I’m just trying to save you and I both the time and energy. So please don’t get upset and downvote me when I turn down anything that’s not, well you guessed it, template recommendations. I’m explaining myself and what I need to help inform better template recommendations. I am looking for template recommendations, not general help on how to do something. I am currently doing it myself with conditional formatting but was also hoping to use dashboard templates to help with weekly meetings to see where we're at. I'm just looking for an at-a-glance tracker of say 100+ approval submissions and their approval status. I'm dealing with just the approval process. The Achilles heal here is that most of the templates available expect a product to be made from scratch each time, and don't expect a magnitude of products that are very similar. Or a "XYZ template does this, but it's for IT requests and status tracking," kind of response to save time. If there's a template or templates I can re-purpose and make my own, that is what I'd consider ideal. Not interested in consulting because what I want to do seems to be pretty simple, simpler than the templates that are available since I don't deal with budgets, finances, sales, or inter-department task tracking, I'm only trying to track approval status of already made items. Yes, I'd like to do it myself, I'm just looking to be pointed in the right direction. It sounds like based on your comment, I'd be better tracking a process, I'm still learning Smartsheet, is there any templates I should look at? Trying to get a start or at least close to experiment. I would like to export a report to see where we're at within the processes for weekly meetings. We won't have multiple teams consistently editing this document, literally just me, which is why I'm just looking to track, not to manage projects. I don't need to track testing, engineering, or anything else outside of the licensing department, just the status of the accessory within the approval process between us and the license owner and the occasional edits. There aren't enough tasks to need to track them, because it's literally maybe one or two edits and that's it. The process of each product is stupid simple like that because they aren't uniquely engineered products each time, just the same product with different licensed graphics. When we have an idea for a phone accessory we create a concept, then we have to show that concept to the owner of the licensed graphics who approves it or asks for changes, then we make changes then test prints, etc. Ability to have a dashboard to see at risk projects as well as which ones require action to be taken.Automate project at risk level based on deadline. This will tell us what action will be needed to move it forward. Ability to label at what stage project/product is in from a design/approval standpoint. As more info gets made, user can populate the fields(such as SKUs, dates, links, and reference numbers).Form populates preliminary info into a tracking sheet.Submit basic project/product info via form. The workflow that I'm looking for looks something like this: I can't just make a hundred separate sheets for each product. This won't be feasible for me, since there are hundreds of products being made that we need to be able to track in a single sheet so we can have an 'at-a-glance' view of. Think phone accessories with printed and designed material.Īfter watching the Project Management tutorials, it seems like all of them require you to create separate copies of the project management template for each Project. I work at a company where we have many products being designed and created that need approvals and coordination with several departments internally and externally. So I've been looking at Smartsheets as a solution to a project tracking solution, but I'm having a hard time seeing it be used for the purposes I'm intending it for.
